Rescuers Start Effort To Reach Chilean Miners

A Chilean mine rescue team has started drilling an escape shaft at the collapsed San Jose mine, where 33 miners have been are trapped since August 5. Families of the trapped miners held a mass as the work began. Officials say that it could take up to three months to dig the shaft, about two feet (66 cm) in diameter, to the depth where the miners ar
