Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko meets U.S. President George W. Bush today,4th April, in Washington. The Ukrainian leader arrived yesterday in the U.S. on a four-day tour of the U.S. to bolster bilateral ties. Reports say Bush and Yushchenko will discuss a range of issues, including the secret and illegal sale of missiles to Iran and China four years ago. Some Ukrainian politicians have alleged that then President Leonid Kuchma approved the sales. Ukraine's prosecutor general has launched a probe. Also today, Yushchenko holds talks with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
On Wednesday in Washington, Yushchenko will address a joint session of the U.S. Congress.
While in the U.S., Yushchenko will also visit Boston and Chicago, a city with a large ethnic Ukrainian community and the hometown of the Ukrainian leader's wife, Kathy Chumachenko who is also making the trip.
