Iran said today that Iraq's Prime Minister Ibrahim Jaafari will visit within the next month, in what will be the first trip top Tehran by a high-ranking Iraqi official since the formation of the new government.
Foreign ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi told reporters of the visit, without giving any further details. Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi visited Iraq earlier this month.
Baghdad and Tehran, which were at war from 1980-1988, re-established diplomatic ties last September.
