Khatami Says He Will Expose Iran Election Violations

Outgoing Iranian President Mohammad Khatami says that he will make public documents proving election law violations and manipulations in Iran's presidential election last week. The official news agency IRNA reported today that Khatami will disclose documentation of what he says were "unethical moves" in the election. Speaking as he visited a mosque late Wednesday, Khatami said he has prepared a detailed dossier on election law violations before and during the voting. He is scheduled to hand over the presidency to election winner Mahmood Ahmadinejad in early August. He said that he will give the documents to the president-elect, to Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and to the head of the judiciary. Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the regime veteran who lost to Ahmadinejad in last week's presidential run-off vote, made bitter allegations of an orchestrated multi-million dollar smear campaign against him and his family.
