INVESTIGATION: Judge Orders DNA Tests to ID 20 Crash Victims
The charred and vaporized bodies of at least 20 of victims of last Friday’s six-bus, two-tanker pileup in the Zahedan-Bam highway should be identified using advanced DNA tests, the magistrate judge in charge of investigation of the crash said, according to Zahedan-baesd independent journalist Mahmoud Barahooi-nezhad. He tells Radio Farda that the coroner’s office told the judge that the bodies have been so damaged that taking DNA samples is impossible. At least 90 people lost their lives in the accident, which experts blamed on the position of the police inspection post on the highway.
