July 18, 2004 - The Islamic Republic’s role in fomenting disorder in Iraq is quite big, Iraq’s interior minister Falah al-Naqib said in an interview with the London daily Asharq-al-Awsat. He admitted that the statement would cause him political trouble. He added that many foreigners, some of whom Iranians, have been arrested for terrorist acts inside Iraq.
