HUMAN RIGHTS: Tehran Judiciary Blasts Cabinet Spokesman for Offer of Help in Kazemi Case


July 27, 2004 - The Tehran judiciary blasted cabinet spokesman Abdollah Ramezanzadeh for offering intelligence ministry’s help to judiciary for finding the killer of Canadian-Iranian photojournalist Zahra Kazemi, who died in custody last July of blows to her head during interrogation. The court has the last word, and anyone who has problem with the court order can file complaints through legal channels, Tehran judiciary said in a statement. Earlier on Tuesday, the judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Elham said judiciary always relied on the intelligence ministry in its investigations.
