August 2, 2004 - The Iranian writers association protested against the continued censorship and harassment of writers and journalists. “The association felt the need to issue one more statement in order to show its members and the public where it stands on issues. The writers want to know when they will be allowed to speak freely, write freely, walk freely,” member of the association’s board, Tehran-based poet Simin Behbahani tells Radio Farda’s broadcaster Amir-Mosaddegh Katouzian. The association has been struggling for freedom for years, she adds.
