August 12, 2004 - Tabriz MP Akbar Aalami said today after a question and answer session at the Majles with oil minister Bijan Zanganeh that he agreed to give up pursuing the charge that Norway’s state-owned oil company Stat Oil paid $15 million in bribes to a son of former president Ali-Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani in order to win a lucrative agreement. Aalami said during the session the oil minister swore that he would resume investigation into the case, if new incriminating evidence came up.
