U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is in India today for security talks. Rumsfeld is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Foreign Affairs Minister Natwar Singh before heading back to Washington in the afternoon.
Ahead of the discussions, Natwar Singh warned plans by Washington to sell surveillance aircraft and anti-tanks missiles to Pakistan could upset a fledgling peace process between the nuclear rivals.
Singh also said the proposed arms sale to Pakistan, a key American ally in its war on terror, could harm improving ties between Washington and New Delhi.
