Iran's soccer team today won 2-0 over North Korea in Pyongyang in a World Cup qualifier. It was the Korean's defence that opened the scoring when an indirect free kick from Iran midfielder Mehdi Mahdavikia deflected off the head An Young Hak for an own goal in the 33rd minute. Iran managed to keep the pressure on in the first half at Kim Il Sung Stadium in the North Korean capital, Pyongyang. Iran's Nekounam took a quick pass in the 80th minute in front of the North's goal and sent the ball under the arm of goalkeeper Kim Myong Gil. Iran lead the group with seven points after a 2-1 home win against Japan last week and a goalless away draw with Bahrain in February.
