Crude Oil Price Hits New Record
The price of crude oil has hit another record high, closing Monday in New York at 60.54 dollars per barrel - or up 70 cents from last Friday's close.
The price of light sweet crude for August delivery at one point during the trading Monday hit 60.95 dollars per barrel.
Analysts say the price rally is being driven by strong global demand, as well as uncertainty about Iran's policy under new President-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has said his priority will be to favor Iranian oil investors and firms.
