“I have seen horrible conditions in the Qasr prison, where prisoners were being beaten in the face with logs, which left no teeth in their mouths,” jailed student activist Amir-Abbas Fakhravar tells Radio Farda, on the night of his return to jail at the end of a 48-hour furlough. Fakhravar, who is serving an eight-year sentence, adds that he has recently been moved to the Evin prison from Qasr, where he was being held alongside more than one thousand common criminals. He adds that once under torture he heard his own wrist bone crack.
