NUCLEAR: Blair Calls Iran’s Nuclear Weapons Capability “Unacceptable”
July 22, 2004 -“It is not acceptable that Iran has a nuclear weapons capability, and that is why we are working with our other partners to make sure that it doesn't,” British Prime Minister Tony Blair said on Thursday in London in his monthly news conference. “We will do whatever we can and whatever is necessary to ensure that Iran obeys the very clear statements that have been made by the atomic energy authority,” he added. Iran vehemently denies pursuing nuclear weapons, arguing its atomic ambitions are limited to generating electricity.
