August 2, 2004 - In Dushanbe for a two day visit, energy minister Habibollah Bitaraf signed two deals with the Tajikistan water and energy ministry to build five small hydro-electric dams with funds provided by the Islamic development bank. Bitaraf met Tajik president Emomali Rakhmonov, as well as that country’s energy minister Dzhurabek Nurmakhmadov to discuss energy and water-use cooperation, Radio Farda’s Dushanbe correspondent Shahnaz Kazmelzadeh says.
