DRUGS: Criminologist Calls for Laws against Psychoactive Pills

July 11, 2004 - There are no laws in Iran against trade of psychoactive pills, Tehran University criminology professor Alieza Kahani tells Radio Farda’s broadcaster Keyvan Hosseini. Any drug that endangers the mental health of users should be criminalized, he adds. Drug counselor Mohammad Mojtahedzdeh says the law enforcement forces are not familiar with psychoactive drugs, and focus their anti-drug efforts only on opium, heroin and hashish.
