North Korea’s Discrete Nuclear assistance to Iran

It has now been disclosed that in May 2004 Iran has purchased 110Kg of hexafluoride gas from North Korea. The gas is used in producing uranium hexafluoride for nuclear fuel. Analysts believe the export of this item is indicative of North Korea’s role in Iran’s nuclear program. Hexafluoride gas is an important element in uranium enrichment. A US military source draws attention to the fact that Iran might be planning to hasten its nuclear enrichment process. In that case Iran could announce its nuclear program in an advanced stage which would not be possible to reverse or halt. North Korea has played an important part in Iran’s ballistic missiles development too.
