At least three people were crushed to death and more than 30 injured after a World Cup qualifying football match in Tehran. Iranian media said the deaths and injuries occurred as thousands of spectators rushed to the exits of a stadium in the capital late on Friday after Iran beat Japan 2-1 in a Group B qualifying match for the 2006 World Cup finals. There was no reason given for the rush for the doors. Among the injured, at least four were reported in a critical condition.
