Police says it has confiscated more than 1,400 kilograms of opium after fighting drug smugglers in south-eastern Iran.
A police officer (Eskandar Moemeni) said police detained two smugglers who were injured during the clashes in the province of Kerman, while others managed to flee.
Iran is a major transit route for the opium produced in neighbouring Afghanistan.
