In a letter to his Italian counterpart, British Prime Minister Tony Blair thanked Italy for its help in obtaining the release of eight Royal Navy sailors from Iran.
The British navy personnel, three boats and their equipment had been captured by the navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps last Friday after they allegedly entered the Iran side of the Shatt al Arab waterway.
