August 25, 2004 - Hossein Rezazadeh won Iran’s first gold medal in the 2004 Olympics on Wednesday and beat his own record in the super-heavyweight Olympic weightlifting category. Reaching close to the 500 kg total lift mark, he lifted a total of 472.5 to qualify for a gold medal, and then bettered it.
