<b>Iran Ready Agree to Unannounced Atomic Inspections by the UN</b>
* Foreign ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi said today that in exchange for foreign technical aid, Iran is ready to sign the supplemental UN non-proliferation agreement that would allow unannounced inspections by the IAEA. (Amir Armin)
* Head of Iran's atomic energy organization Gholamreza Aghazadeh said in an interview with the French daily <i>Le Monde</i> that Iran would sign the supplemental non-proliferation protocol to allow UN inspections only after the lifting of the sanctions that block Iran's access to technology. <b>MPs Blast Expediency Council for Increasing Guardians Council</b>
* MPs criticized the arbitration body Expediency Council for disregarding the constitutional role of the Majles in its vote yesterday to increase the Guardians' budget by more than 200 percent. The 30-member Expediency Council, headed by former president Ali-Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani, approved the Guardians' request for increasing its Majles-approved 40 billion rial budget to 100 billion rials ($12.5 million), even though the Guardians' budget was not among the disputed budget items referred to it for arbitration. Majles speaker Mehdi Karrubi confirmed today at the Majles that he walked out of the Expediency Council's meeting yesterday in protest against the Expediency Council's decision to vote on the Guardians' budget. He ridiculed the conservatives for having argued, in effect, that if another few billion rials were not given to the Guardians Council, the pillars of Islam would tremble and the "Global Arrogance" would attack Iran. Isfahan MP Rajabali Mazrui said the conservatives argued that if their budget was not increased, Islam and the constitution could not be protected. In a statement signed by 150 MPs, the Majles thanked President Khatami, Majles speaker Karrubi and Majles budget committee chief Majid Ansari for their yesterday's walkout and called the Expediency Council's budget vote a violation of the constitution. Tabriz MP Akbar Alami urged the MPs to resign from the Majles, if legislation by the Expediency Council continues. (Ali Sajjadi)

* Majles speaker Karrubi called the budget increase a new innovation. Qaenat MP Musa Qorbani said Majles had ignored the Guardians Council request for a budget increase. Karrubi said every government department complains about its low budget, but only the Guardians Council fights the Majles over its budget. Karrubi's statement, emboldened other MPs to speak up against the Expediency Council's vote in harsher tones. (Siavash Ardalan)
<b>Tobacco Authority to Increase Government's Share of Domestic Market</b>
* The head of the state tobacco authority said the government plans to increase its share of the domestic cigarette market from 25 percent in the current year to 55 percent in the upcoming fiscal year. He said government has lost control of 70 percent of the market. (Baktash Khamsehpour)

امير آرمين (راديوفردا) رهبران آمريکا، بريتانيا و اسپانيا در جزاير آزور دردر يک کنفرانس خبري شرکت کردند. رييس جمهوري آمريکا در اين کنفرانس خبري گفت فردا روزي است که مشخص مي‌شود آيا ديپلماسي کارآمد است يا نه. فردا لحظه حقيقت است . براي جهان که تلاش کند صدام حسين را خلع سلاح کند. رييس جمهوري آمريکا خواهان پشتنيباني فوري و بدون قيد و شرط از خلع سلاح عراق شد. رييس جمهوري عراق تعهد خود را به آزاد سازي عراق مورد تاکيد قرار داد. آقاي بوش در مورد تماميت عراق گفت ما متعهد به عراق يک پارچه ايم با نهادهاي دموکراتيک که با همه اقوام و مداهب آن با احترام رفتار شود. در بخش ديگري از سخنان خود با اشاره به قطعنامه شوراي امنيت سازمان ملل متحد، پرزيدنت بوش گفت قطعنامه اي در شوراي امنيت به طور يک پارچه به تصويب رسيده که از منطق آن نمي توان فرار کرد. به موجب اين قطعنامه عراق يا بايد داوطلبانه خلع سلاح شود يا به زور خلع سلاح خواهد شد . رژيم تاکنون به طور داوطلبانه خلع سلاح نشده است. كنفرانس سران در آزور اقدامي جهت پاپان دادن به بن بست ديپلماتيك در سازمان ملل برسر قطعنامه پيشنهادي آمريكا، بريتانيا و اسپانيا براي مجاز ساختن استفاده از نيروي نظامي عيليه صدام بود. فرانسه و روسيه عهد كرده اند كه اين قطعنامه را وتو خواهند كرد. چين، آلمان و سوريه نيز مخالفت شديد خود را با اين قطعنامه ابراز داشتند.
خوزه ماريا ازنار نخست وزير اسپانيا نيز گفت ناتو بايد عليه تروريسم و دولت هاي خودكامه مبارزه كند. وي افزود ما براي اعلام جنگ به اينجا نبامده ايم.
