Iran Demands Pakistan's Musharraf Explain Nuclear Bomb Comment

Iran demanded today that Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf explain his claim that Tehran seeks nuclear weapons. In an interview with Germany's "Der Spiegel" magazine published yesterday, Musharraf was quoted as saying that Iran is "very anxious to have the bomb." Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said Musharraf was likely misquoted by the magazine. He also said it is up to Iran to say what it is "seeking or not seeking." Pakistan has admitted that a clandestine supply network run by Pakistan's nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan in the past sold to Iran centrifuge components, which are used to enrich uranium.
