August 4, 2004 - Head of the Tavanir company, which runs the country’s power plants said the recent blackouts in Iran, some of which last up to three hours, were caused by a shortage of fuel. He said in summer, when power consumption peaks, fuel delivery to gas-burning power plants lags behind.
