NUCLEAR: Germany’s Ruling Party Spokesman Urges Iran to Comply with Europeans' Demands

August 11, 2004 - Foreign policy spokesman of Germany’s Social Democratic Party Gert Weisskirchen tells Radio Farda’s Cologne correspondent Shahram Mirian that Iran’s nuclear program has reached a dangerous stage, and may end up being referred to the UN Security Council, which will result in further isolating Iran in the international arena. He adds that before the resolution of Iran’s internal political situation, the European Union does not want to take part in Iran’s nuclear program. The question of possible Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear installations is for Israel to answer, but he adds that if Iran continues to resist the demands of the IAEA for cooperation, such a strike may be forthcoming.
