Introduction:
Across the Sémnān region in north of Iran— a place many Iranians see as distant and little-known — four ancient languages from four distinct lineages are still alive. Despite the twists and turns of history, these languages have endured, and this rare persistence has turned Semnan into a linguistic island in the heart of Iran. This episode of the “Dingo” podcast is a journey into that dignified, quiet land.
