Iran Used To Torture Prisoners, Hard-line Judiciary Admits
Iran's ISNA student news agency today carries a report by the judiciary saying Iran's Islamic regime used to subject its prisoners to solitary confinement and torture.
The report quotes judiciary chief Abbas Ali Alizadeh as saying the regime also resorted to prolonged detention without trial and the extraction of confessions under duress. But he said that steps have been taken that all "these failings have now disappeared."
